You always hear the stories about checking under the hood for animals when the weather gets cold. Unfortunately I learned this the hard way. I wont get into details, but my cat was in a horrible accident yesterday. Luckily he is going to live its nothing short of a miracle. He will lose most of his tail and his leg is injured pretty bad, but he is going to be okay.
Point: Hug your pet today and learn from other peoples mistakes.
Side Note: Yes he looks that big in person. I think that's what saved his life.

OH no poor baby! I hope he heals quickly.
You're lucky. I had to "take care" of three kittens last year because my wife was able to remotely start her car before going outside.
I hate it when they decide to hide around the alternator belt and radiator fan.. That just gets messy...
Good to know yours is going to be fine, and maybe he's leaned a bit of a lesson as well? if not him, maybe his owner? *wink*
I LOVE YOU BLACKIE!!!! Thank goodness for GOOD vets.

Well I have no pets, in less you would like to be my pet. I WOULD hug you everyday!!
that is a huge feline!
Good thoughts being sent your way. I don't know why they like to climb up in there of all places.
Aw, that's so sad...but glad furbaby will survive. ((((HUGS))))
Poor kitty. And I hope that you are Ok. I'm glad he will survive.
We had a big-ol' cat when I was growing up. He was ok.
Oh, poor guy! I'm sure he'll get lots of extra lovin' and hopefully heals quickly.
Don't be too hard on yourself...
OMG! Poor kitty! And poor you! I once backed out of the garage and ran over my dog's paw. Don't ask. I was mortified, and STILL feel guilty about it, about 8 years later!!
ouch... poor kattie.
I just read this story about a cat who's face was injured the same way, and he's going to be ok too. My brother has a tail-less cat too. She was a stray he found, and the vet said she wasn't born that way, and must have lost it in an accident. She's short and fat and people mistake her for a little dog all the time, because of the tail. I'm glad your kitty is going to be ok!
A Christmas Miracle!
Good news indeed.
I saw an informative show on the brain the other day. The miracle of memory and futurethought happens in the frontal cortex. Dogs have a tiny bit of FC however Cat brains are remarkably unencumbered with such frivolous equipment.
That is why Cats live in the now and don't make spectacles of themselves like Dogs do when they see their owners.
Perhaps this will help your little furry friend forget about this dreadful incident...
plus he still has 8 more lives left.
That poor sweet baby. Give him some hugs for me!
i have 5 cats...i think i am going to hug them all :(
if i could, i'd hug yours too! sweet lil angel
Glad the cat is going to be OK. That would suck at Christmas. Ok it would suck anyday, but especially this time of year.
So sorry to hear about blackie...
Sorry to hear he didn't make it. That's very sad indeed.
My heart dropped when I read your next post. I'm so sorry he didn't make it. Again, don't be too hard on yourself. I'm sure you gave him a great life, full of love that he might never have had otherwise.
I saw the post ahead... I'm so sorry...
I'm new to your blog, but I just wanted to say I am truly sorry for your loss. We lost our beloved boxer two years ago and I still miss him. I hope you find some comfort in memories of your little friend.
I Wanted to say I am sorry about Blackie. I hope you are doing ok, I know it's rough.
Stop by and see what happened to my Duck this past week, it was rough on me too.
I lost my cat...I REALLY miss her.
So Sorry :(
I'm so sorry. Pets are just like people to us who loved them so much.
I'm so sorry. :( I am hugging my kitties and we are all hoping your kitty truly is resting in peace.
That is terrible news.
I am really sorry.
Almost 7 years ago I squeezed my beloved Jackie (a big 120 lb mushball) around the neck and watched his eyes close for the last time.
The absolute last thing that he could muster, was a weak little kiss on my cheek.
I totally lost it and the staff at the Vet Clinic very kindly gave me the room for 15 minutes.
Still haven't had found strength to go through that heartbreak again.
I am SOOOOOOOOO sorry for your loss.
Hugs,
Pissy
Aww, no, this is awful.
I've lost cats before, too. It's like losing a very good friend.
So sorry.
Hugs.
